I’ve worked in the healthcare industry for many years in different capacities, in schools, and in acute hospitals, where I managed critically ill patients. Today, I practice as a Medical and Psychiatric Nurse practitioner in clinics and telehealth. In addition, I make home visits to patients’ homes for further treatments after hospital discharge.
I’m also a clinical professor at Charles Drew University for Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner students.
In the quest to serve more patients to a greater capacity and be part of a rewarding recovery process, I acquired more education to the doctoral level to be equipped to treat medical and psychiatric ill patients. My passion for making a change in the healthcare system prompted me to set up Hillz Psychiatric Medical Group under Hillz Psychiatric Nursing Incorporated as a medium to serve more patients in the community most importantly the low economic patient population.
My goal is to restore hope to patients and families in their vulnerable moments by giving treatment with dignity and respect and caring with compassion at every interaction. My strong desire remains to contribute to the stability of patients’ conditions by using tools at my disposal to conduct; assessment, diagnosis, treatment, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, education, counseling, and follow-up.
